Peter was born in Hellesdon, a suburb of Norwich on October 9th, 1952.

He attended Kinsale Avenue Infant and Junior School before passing the Eleven Plus for King Edward VI Grammar School (probably better known as The Norwich School). There he took O' Levels and gained A levels in English, Economics and History.

He then attended a nine month course in journalism at Harlow Technical College and then worked for Eastern Counties Newspapers (now Archant) as a reporter at their Lowestoft, Norwich, Cromer and Beccles offices before working for Raymonds Newsagency in Nottingham and then as editor of the Belper News in Derbyshire before moving back to Norfolk as a sub-editor and then sports editor of the Norwich Mercury Series of weekly newspapers.

In 1989 he became Norfolk Constabulary's first civilian press and public relations officer and held numerous positions within the police force before retiring in 2007. He the joined Media and Crisis Management Ltd as a incident manager.

He is now fully retired and devotes his time to working within the community of Hethersett in numerous roles, particularly within the sporting fields. Peter has been honoured with numerous awards for his community work including a South Norfolk Inspiring Achievement award in 2012 and South Norfolk Community Sport Volunteer of the Year in 2014. Peter is also a great fan of music, sport and literature.

Peter has a Masters' Degree from the University of East Anglia and also diplomas in sports coaching and life coaching from the University of Newcastle.
